Wish you would have shown PCB of other brands like Sapphire and their Nitro+ models. But oh well, Nvidia's power connectors are melting on rx 4090 and AMD got some issues of their own. I guess we should not buy any GPUs then :-D.

Thanks for the heads up. I think some of the commenters are missing the point that the board, regardless of who makes it, is by design not robust enough to be repaired. Whether or not it has carcinogens or not is a side bar.

It's pretty much the same thing with all 'environmentally friendly' products now... ALL JUNK. Treated lumber now rots much faster. The refrigerant now used in air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators is now flammable. How environmentally friendly is that? 🤬🤬🤬

Sounds like an AIB partner problem rather than an AMD problem. You can probably find an RTX 4090 AIB board which does the same thing somewhere, so I'm not sure what you're on about.

When you get to a point where repair does damage, you know you've gone too far. Just throw it in the bin ... is what manufacturers would say. It's a shame eco friendly and long lasting sometimes don't go hand in hand. After all, both save resources and environment.

I prefer my cables to melt so I buy Nvidia 4090. I love paying $500 more for ray tracing in 3 games and a 20fps hit, I'm legit consumer just like you fellow youtube chatters, go team green forever!

My dude a 4090 costs extra 900euros here in Denmark...and for a mere 10 - 25% increase in performance in 4k specific games, sure the ray tracing is better but again in 4k games they both have slideshows instead of at least smooth 60 fps and I'm not gonna even mention about the multiple problems the 4090 has regardless of the subvendor. I don't know man, I have to disagree with this one.

You failed to to identify the manufacturer! Does that go for all of that series of GPU's? I know you're not a fan of AMD. I think you're biased! On my next computer build, I'm going to be using an AMD graphics card because they are Linux friendly. The drivers are built-in to the Linux kernel. I just can't stand Microsoft Windows! My computer is mine! Windows doesn't own the computer that I built and paid for! I will do whatever I please with my computer! I will update my computer when I feel like! No forced updates that break the system! Do you understand Microsoft! Linux is the future! Nvidia better shape up and hop on board, or they will be left in the dark!

This will go through a company's testing no problem. They don't make cards expecting re-flow or repair activities, they work to a MTBF and will specify environmental conditions amongst others. How much they cater for sagging for example is anyone's guess but there's no way they're thinking about repair tech's reflowing solder within them. AMD are in a tough place with Nvidia's mammoth market share (bit like Google with its phones compared to say samsung), it both gives it a market (choice) but also makes it near impossible to grow very large. For me they need to do R&D in AI suitability (ie remove the graphics element) to push new products in that market. It has potential to be bigger than the gpu market and given they already to design work it wouldn't be too big a switch but they need to find a next gen tech. Tough ask.
